On Friday, April 11, 2025, the RigelMap application was updated to version 3.0c.
A new feature called "Lead to" has been introduced.

"Lead to" allows you to:

• set a route to any location selected by the user on the map,
• choose an external navigation app (e.g., Google Maps, Bolt, Uber) to display the route and start navigation.

On Thursday, 13.02.2025, the RigelMap application was updated. Below is the list of changes:

Desktop application:

• Volume calculation - added functionality for volume calculation using the "model-to-model" method and presenting volume results in m3.
• Introduced a new TIN layer type, which represents the terrain surface using a triangle mesh.
• Added the ability to generate volume calculation reports, showing the difference between excavation and embankment volumes.
• 3D visualizations - introduced a new engine for viewing 3D data, which works directly in a web browser.

• Surface stakeout (TIN layer) - users can now use the new TIN layer type, making surface staking more precise.

• Added support for SOSI format files when importing data.
• Improved synchronization of unsaved data when entering a project.
• Added support for EXIF data when importing photos into a RigelMap project.
• Added the possibility of triangulation for the DXF layer.
• Introduced ability to change the order of custom fields for layers when creating or editing a new layer.
• Improved the functionality in mobile application by ensuring geoid correction loading in case of no internet connection.

On Tuesday, 07.01.2024, the RigelMap application was updated. Below is a list of changes:

Project Settings:

• Access to desktop application - ability to restrict access to the desktop version only for administrators. Other users have access to the mobile version only.
• Restriction of object editing/deletion - ability to restrict object editing and deletion to their author and administrators. User will not be able to modify objects created by others.
• Enforcement of a specific number of measurements - ability to enforce a minimum number of epochs for point measurements throughout the project. This cannot be changed in the mobile application.

Custom Fields:

• Relation Field - a field for which a relation to another layer is set:
  • Relation Layer (relation to another layer),
  • Number of returned objects (default 5),
  • Distance threshold to objects (max 100 meters),
  • Automatically select the nearest object.
• Number Field - ability to set precision, minimum and maximum value for the entered value.
• Logic Field - required to set a default value: true or false.

• Required Field (for each type of field) - ability to enforce data completion before saving the object.
• Hide in staking mode (for each type of field) - ability to hide the field when using the staking function, even if the field is required.
• Default Value (for list and logic field)
• For Logic field, select the default value true or false.
• For List field, selecting the default value will automatically select the indicated value from the list when creating an object.
• Require photo (for list field elements) - ability to require a photo before submitting the form.
• Filter in staking mode (for list field) - filtering available values when using the staking function for points within the same layer. The selected value for the staked object will be hidden from the selection list.

On Thursday, 24.10.2024, the RigelMap application was updated. Below is the list of changes:

Machine control system:

• Machine measurement export - added the ability to export measurement data to all available formats.
• Copying measurements and machine tracking - added the ability to copy data from the machine to other layer types.
• Attribute table with machine measurements - added the ability to present machine measurement data in the attribute table.
• Machine statuses:
  • active machines - machine icon in its default color with the machine name label.
  • inactive machines - machine icon in gray with the machine name label and information about the last activity time.
• Machine measurement identification - added the ability to identify machine tracking.

New features and changes in the mobile app:

• Updated device list - added card view for GNSS devices (RigelMap and CHCNAV), and for other devices, which expands by clicking on the device tab.
• Antenna height - changed the way antenna height is set - the antenna height is assigned to the device, and its change is possible from the card or the project (for the selected device).
• Correction server - changed the way the correction source is selected - the selected source is assigned to the device, and its change is possible from the card.
• Other devices - added information about antenna height and location spoofing apps, visible below the device name.

• Importer - added the ability to save the source file to the document center by selecting the option: 'Add to documents' when importing data.
• Exporter - for the SOSI format - the method of measurement and visibility selection has been extended with a dropdown list that, in addition to codes, also includes descriptions.
• Exporter - for the LandXML format - the exported data file will be saved in the document center, but it will not be downloaded to the device.

On Thursday, 29.08.2024, the RigelMap application was updated. Below is a list of changes:

Data Export

• New format - Excel - Ability to export data to .xlsx format (including lines and polygons),
• CSV - Ability to export lines and polygons,
• Columns - Option to select columns for export (all columns are selected by default),
• CRS Transformation - During data export to CSV or Excel
• Points: Point coordinates are recorded in the X and Y columns
• Lines and polygons: Coordinates are recorded in the WKT format and column

New features in the mobile app:

• JPEG/JPG Compression - Option to select the compression level for .jpeg/.jpg photos/images.

On Saturday, 06.07.2024, the RigelMap application was updated. Below is a list of changes:

Machine Control System:

• Compactor: Ability to collect data on compacted surfaces using a single GNSS receiver.
• Machine Management: Ability to add, edit, and delete machines such as asphalt pavers, compactors, and excavators from the admin panel.
• Machine Location: Ability to assign machines to projects and track their measurements and locations in real time.
• New Compaction Report: Added a report with a pie chart showing the percentage of overlapping passes during material compaction by the compactor.

New Features in the Mobile App:

• Compactor Calibration: A calibration wizard streamlines the process of adding a compactor by using a GNSS receiver for calibration. After calibration, the same GNSS receiver is used as an antenna to determine the compactor's position and is mounted on the machine's roof.
• Measuring Wheel: Support for a measuring wheel for tracking work.
• Audio Notifications: Added audio signals upon completion of data collection and voice notifications for working with the IMU.
• Measurement Precision: Ability to set a minimum measurement precision value in centimeters when collecting a point from an average.
• Staking Prefix: Ability to configure a prefix that will be added to a new point during staking. The prefix is user-configurable.

Other New Features:

• Increased Import Limit: Increased the import file size limit from 20 MB to 50 MB.
• Improved Import: Enhanced the file import process and added intelligent coordinate system filtering.
• New Export Formats: Data export support has been extended to new formats. Currently supported file types are: CSV, DXF, GeoJSON, GML, GPKG, GPX, KML, SHP, SQLITE, LandXML, KOF, SOSI.
• Photo Report: Added coordinate system information on the project title page, and coordinates and elevation of the object on the object information page.

On Saturday, 03.02.2024, the RigelMap application was updated. Below is the list of changes:

• Integrated support for two GNSS receivers with an asphalt paver, enabling real-time tracking of asphalt surface information, paver tilt, and arm length, with automatic recording of new surfaces in polygon form.
• Improved line staking with highlighting of active segments and added pink guide lines in case of difficulties with user position interpolation.
• Implemented in the mobile version the mechanism to change object heights and create lines from points, known from the desktop version.
• Extended project creation capabilities with coordinate and height systems for Sweden and Finland.
• Enhanced the 'Road Reference' plugin with a 'Search Radius' feature, allowing adjustment of the search range.
• Introduced the identification of WMS layer functionality in the mobile version, allowing users to receive information for user-added WMS layers.
• Optimized the saving of large polygon objects, enabling immediate saving with simultaneous calculation of road references in the background.

In the latest update of the application, available from Thursday, November 30, 2023, we have introduced several significant changes:

• Users can now define the appearance of objects in the DXF layer independently of the layer style,
• We have added support for importing EGIB, BDOT500, and GESUT databases placed in a single GML file,
• We have introduced a GML file validator, which, during the import of a file incompatible with the schema, not only informs about the error but also generates a file containing detailed information about the incorrect data.

On Sunday, November 12, 2023, the RigelMap application was updated. Below is the list of changes:

• Machine Support - support for excavators and asphalt pavers in RigelMap, synchronized with DigPilot

On Sunday, October 29, 2023, the RigelMap application was updated. Below, we present a list of changes:

• Export to SOSI format - the current version allows data export to SOSI format.
• Selected layers in users views - after changing the view, the layers in the tree will be selected or deselected according to their state at the time of view creation.
• Tools optimized: Split by Point, Change Line Direction, and Copy to Layer ...
• Fixes introduced for tools: Data Export, Digitization, Permalink.

On Sunday, October 08, 2023, the RigelMap application was updated. Below is a list of changes:

• Object identification for WMS layers - Information about objects at the click location is now returned for WMS layers (external map services) added by the user.
• Geometry error detection - When attempting to save erroneous geometries, such as overlapping segments or vertices, the application will display geometry errors in the map window.
• Optimization of map loading in the mobile application - Data download information has been moved from the map window to the layers button. This allows data to be downloaded in the background without blocking the map window and allows for easier content browsing.
• Creating parallel lines - The tool for creating parallel lines has been expanded to include the option to create lines for selected sides (left, right). Users can choose to create lines for both sides or only one. The tool is available in the desktop application in the menu visible after right-clicking in the map window.

On Saturday, 24.06.2023, RigelMap was updated with new features and improvements:

• Advanced tools with support for Help layers - new tools in RigelMap allow users to perform various operations on geospatial data.
• Custom WMS - this feature enables the creation, addition, and management of Web Map Service (WMS) map services.
• More layer labeling options - layer labeling has been expanded with additional options that allow for displaying information in a more organized way.
• Support for .xml files - this feature allows importing XML format data into RigelMap using an importing plugin. Users can easily transfer data from other sources to the program.
• Attribute table update - RigelMap now allows opening the attribute table from the context menu and simultaneously editing multiple objects in the table.
• Updated GML layer management - when adding GML layers, users can now select all layers from a chosen schema with a single click. After adding, schema information will be displayed in the menu, providing convenient access to them.
• Printing maps with a geographic grid - this feature allows printing maps with an overlay of a geographic grid.
• Layer tree search - this feature enables quick and easy search of specific layers and their filtration.
• Creation of global templates - authorized users have the ability to create templates available for all users in the same department.
• Improved project search - faster search for projects in the mobile application and desktop version.
• File in Norwegian projects - each Norwegian project now has the RMRNO-001-Landmålingsrapport file available for download in the file tab.
• "Log Out" button in the project window - this function allows users to log out of RigelMap with a single click.

On Friday, 17.03.2023, RigelMap was updated with new features and improvements:

On Monday 13.02.2023 RigelMap was updated with new features and improvements:

• saving a fragment of the layer tree - groups, layers along with their styling as a template. This will allow the user to automatically create new layers based on the definition, which significantly speeds up the work,
• saving the project structure as a template on the basis of which new projects can be created,
• adding custom fields to layers, thanks to which the user can design his own data structure,
• new definitions for GML layers,
